Chairman of Mikros Systems, RADM (ret) Admiral Wayne E. Meyer Passes
Away
We regretfully announce that our
Chairman, Rear Admiral Wayne E. Meyer, has passed away.
Admiral Meyer was widely acknowledged as the "Father of Aegis",
which was the shipbuilding project that was one of the longest and
largest in the program's history. In addition to his 40 years
in the Aegis program, Admiral Meyer had a profound effect on Mikros
Systems. As a director since 1988, and as the Chairman since
1990, he has been a key factor in the success of Mikros' technology

Mikros Systems Named 4th Fastest Growing Defense Contractor by
Defense News
We are pleased to announce that
on September 1, 2008, Mikros Systems was named the 4th
fastest growing Defense Contractor in the United States by
Defense News. The accompanying article, entitled “After Wars,
What Next?” stressed continuing innovation in the post-war
environment and named Mikros as one of the leading innovative
defense companies. The technology Mikros has been developing
over the last 5 years has been well received in the defense
community, and has now been acknowledged by the country’s most
respected Defense publication, Defense News, in their annual

Power Technologies (OPT), exhibited our autonomous Powerbuoy at the
Office of Naval Research
Science and Technology Partnership
Conference last week in Washington, DC at the Marriott Wardman Park.
The theme of this year's show was "Sustaining the Edge: Serving the
Next Generation Warfighter, Now", with an overall objective of
strengthening the partnership between science and technology and
exploring new ideas with small businesses. The Powerbuoy was
well received by many corporate officials and Senior Navy

Systems Corporation Exhibits at the 2008 Navy Opportunity Forum in
Crystal City, VA
Mikros Systems
Corporation attended the
2008 Navy Opportunity Forum on June 2-4 in
Crystal City, VA. The purpose of the Forum is to highlight small
businesses that have been funded by the SBIR (Small Business
Innovation Research) Program. This year’s theme focused on
“Transitioning Technology to the Fleet”. During the 3 days, Mikros
was able to interact with our SPAWAR (Space and Naval Warfare
Systems Command) and NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems Command) customers,
which in turn will be very positive for Mikros in the future. Marc
Dalby, Director of Program Development, presented a briefing on
Mikros’
AIRchitect-EMC Wireless Network Design Tool targeted to new

Conference
Mikros Senior Staff Engineer, Henry
Silcock, recently presented a paper on the AIRchitect -EMC
"Interference - Aware" Wireless Network Design Tool at the annual
Department of Defense Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Program

Mikros Receives Certification from the Defense Security Service
We are pleased to report that Mikros
has received certification from the Defense Security Service to
conduct classified processing on site here in Fort Washington.
As a requirement of the certification process, Mikros has adopted
new corporate policies which govern all aspects of classified
processing. This will enable Mikros to accept and perform more
comprehensive classified work from the government.
